First through my involvement in the foundation of &lt;a href="http://glua.ua.pt"&gt;GLUA&lt;/a&gt; and more recently through &lt;a href="http://code.ua.pt/"&gt;CodeUA&lt;/a&gt;. In the last 7 years I&amp;rsquo;ve participated in &lt;a href="http://hng.av.it.pt/members/dgomes"&gt;several EU projects &lt;/a&gt;in which I&amp;rsquo;ve always promoted the use of OSS and the release of code developed in the projects through OSS licenses.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Today I was able to go a step further, since I was invited to do be part of a discussion panel at the &lt;a href="http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/cf/fnc6/item-display.cfm?id=3774"&gt;Future Networks 6th FP7 Concertation Plenary Meeting&lt;/a&gt; where the subject was Open Source &amp;amp; Research.
