Today I was shopping in an unnamed large electronics store when I inadvertedly overeard a talk between the clerk and a costumer trying to buy a network solution for his house. The clerk pointed out a linksys N router as a way for the costumer to get good coverage in all his house without questioning the costumer whether his laptop had 802.11n or not, or if his ISP equipment had an Ethernet interface or not…
This was not the first time I eavesdropped on a similar solution, and I bet most of you have had a similar experience.
The lack of tech training in such clerks mines the company own porpose of serving it’s costumer.
